As we all know, scientific breakthroughs are almost always made in the shadows. Think of the researchers who work on projects out of sight, in research institutes or laboratories. We’ve decided to shine the spotlight on our research and once again present the process and results in this month’s blog post.
Advances and the development of devices and tools to simplify our work would be impossible without researchers, in this case engineers. It is they who create new products that make our professional tasks more efficient and precise. We thought we’d once again present the work of our junior engineer and mechanical engineering project manager, François Boisclair.
Conventional urethane molding techniques involve making a mold with an open cross-section, and using gravity to pour the product into the mold. With this open section designed to receive urethane, it’s very difficult to achieve the desired precision in terms of final product thickness. Our team worked on a technical process enabling us to use precise moldings with both hot and cold urethanes. We’re delighted and proud to have achieved such a conclusive result: our team succeeded in reaching an enviable target of +/- 0.010″. It’s important to point out that there are only a handful of companies specializing in urethane that can do this in Canada, and we’re one of them.
This breakthrough is a goal that Polyplast has been pursuing since the very beginning. This discovery by our team brings a great deal of precision and sets us apart from the competition.
Reliability and performance, first and foremost
We’re always on hand to ensure that your projects run smoothly, by minimizing or even eliminating the expense and production delays associated with the breakdown and replacement of industrial parts.
Our versatile, high-performance products are made from a variety of resins, including epoxy, silicone and polyurethane, both hot and cold. The process involves mixing products and pouring them into prefabricated molds.
Your allies in optimizing your operations
Polyplast manufactures high-quality polyurethane components that extend the life of your machinery by reducing breakage and, by the same token, the costs associated with rust, wear and abrasion. In addition to offering you tools to optimize and extend the life of your equipment, we are your allies in creating tailor-made solutions, so you can make the most of your production time.
To do this, we diagnose your problems by working directly with you to maintain the performance of existing equipment and develop the tools needed to improve operations. In collaboration with our representative, who will help you pinpoint your problems by asking you questions about the use of equipment parts, we can then find solutions appropriate to your context.
